Starfield team reveals creative process of filling galaxies with alien life

Imagining what a future might be like is one of the driving forces behind Starfield, the first new universe from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, where your role-playing journey can lead to more than 1,000 planets. It’s available on Windows PCs, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series, X|S consoles and Steam.

Over at Xbox Wire, editor Mike Nelson talked to the development team responsible for crafting so many unique alien creatures and found out what it takes to build an entire galactic ecosystem.

Spoiler alert: It takes a lot.

Head over to Xbox Wire to find out the team’s rules for planet generation, how they decided how many species would be on each planet, and how they grounded their creations in the realism of our world, including their behaviors. And if you want to find out more about what went on behind the scenes of the game, head over to Source.
