The Signature Samurai’s Mountain-Shredding Snowboard PC

When I was across campus interviewing Ken Fowles, the company’s “Signature Samurai” and the guy responsible for running the Microsoft Signature lab, he showed me something that I’ve never seen before – a fully functioning desktop PC made out of an Arbor 158 snowboard! It was so cool that I had to shoot a short video to share it with you. Check it out:

Get Microsoft Silverlight

Ken’s snowboard PC is packing somewhat older hardware – a Core2Duo processor with 4GB of RAM and a several-years-old GPU, but he’s in the process of upgrading it with a Core i7 quad-core processor, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 460 powering a Viewsonic 3D display. My favorite part – the fact that you have to start it by short-circuiting it with a key or other metal object – will fortunately stay the same.

This is a great example of someone taking two of their interests and mashing them together to make a completely unique PC. You saw what Ken did with his interests, but now I want you to show me what you’re doing with yours! Send me photos or videos of your home-brew or custom-designed PC to my Ask Ben Anything email address, and I’ll put the best online for the world to see.
