The latest developer bits and advertising SDK; it’s time to //publish/

Last month at the //build/ conference, we announced the Release Candidate of Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 and today at TechEd North America we delivered the RTM version of the software development suite’s latest update. Today’s release provides developers with the final Update 2 bits.  From a Windows platform perspective, this update primarily improves stability; no new APIs are included. (See upgrade information below).

Also this week, we released the RTM versions of the Microsoft Ad SDKs that support Rich Media on Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 8.1 (Silverlight and XAML) and Windows 8.1 XAML. We recommend that you update your apps with these latest versions of the Ad SDKs.

With the latest bits and a stronger platform for monetization, we also bring you educational resources to take advantage of these investments. The //publish/ global event series provides you with expert guidance and support for app design, performance tuning, testing, publishing, and Unity porting in a cool and inspiring environment. //publish/ events occur May 16 – 17 simultaneously in more than 60 locations worldwide.  We think you’ll find it an extraordinary opportunity to learn, share, and code, all while connecting with others via a unique online experience. Register today.

Upgrade Information: To upgrade your development environment to Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 RTM, we highly recommend updating from within Visual Studio 2013 using ‘Tools’ -> ‘Extensions and Updates’; you can also download the bits from the Microsoft Download Center. For more information, see the Visual Studio team blog.
