GLOBAL – If you use Foursquare on your Symbian phone, now is the time to upgrade your app. Changes to the way Foursquare operates mean that the old app will stop working from Monday, but there’s a new one already available in Ovi Store that will continue to communicate properly with the service.
Apart from the fact that it will work with the new Foursquare version 2 API – a pretty crucial feature, there’s not a lot of difference in the way the app operates. You can either go here to have a link sent to your phone, or check in to Ovi Store from your phone, where – if you have the previous version installed – you’ll get a message about the update.
Here it is in action:
The new app is once again available for Symbian 3rd & 5th edition as well as Symbian^3 phones. The Series 40 app that we’ve also highlighted recently is already using the updated API and so doesn’t need an upgrade.
We are continuously working to improve the Foursquare application and to introduce new features, so watch this space…
