Time for the last of our series of Q&As highlighting the great questions and answers from our virtual sessions held during Mobile World Congress 2012. Today I am pleased to bring you the ultimate guide to the Nokia Lumia 610 – ultimate because it answers all the questions YOU asked us!

Q: Does the Lumia 610 support any extra languages?

A: The new MSFT update adds new languages including Chinese and others which will be available on Lumia 610 out of the box.

Q: The Lumia 900 has been a nice extension of the design language first seen on the N9/Lumia 800… The 610 however explores a different design language – what was the reason for it?

A: The polycarb form factor for the Lumia 800 and 900 is a high-end design, the Lumia 610 and 710 products have different material choices to give the optimal quality and feel for each respective price point – the design for the 610 and 710 allow for different battery sizes (compared to 800 and 900) and personalisation.

Q: What other limitations does Tango have on 256MB devices besides background tasks?

A: We don’t have a local scout but 95% of apps will work on the Lumia 610, 5% will require some rework or need to be screened off Marketplace.

Q: Is the WP7.5 on the Lumia 610 a light version of the WP7.5 on the Lumia 800? The specs of these two phones seem to indicate a different OS (600Mhz vs. 1400Mhz and 256Mo RAM vs. 512Mo RAM).

A: It’s 800mhz on the Lumia 610, it’s the same version but the 610 will have the new capabilities on the WP 7.5 platform, the 800 will be updated through Zune to have the same, new extensions permit lower HW spec.

Q: When will the Lumia 900 and Lumia 610 be available in India?

A: Market distribution will be confirmed in Q2.

Q: When will the tethering update for the Lumia devices be pushed out?

A: It will be in coming soon for the 800 and 710 via Zune update, for the 610 and 900 it will be available at launch.

Q: With the 610, the focus is on attracting the lower tier of the market – do you think 8GB is enough? I mean more from a psychological point of view for the customer…

A: We have the Lumia 710 in the marketplace with 8GB and we have not seen any complaints from users, we have the Lumia 610 with an affordable price point in mind and so we chose 8GB for a balance between price and user experience.

Q: Considering its low price point, will the 610 be available alongside the 900 in key markets, or is it being targeted for other regions were perhaps the Lumia 900 might be out of reach for a lot of users?

A: We will not restrict the Lumia 610 being available in markets alongside the 900 or vice-versa as long as there is demand for both.

Q: Will the Lumia 610 be available in the Caribbean, seeing that it is a lower end hand set?

A: No concrete plans at the moment, but the Lumia team would love a trip to the Caribbean! 😉

Q: What GPU does the 610 have?

A: The Lumia 610 has a 3D Graphics HW Accelerator.

Q: Does the 610 have a removable battery?

A: It most certainly does!

Q: Are you guys planning to integrate Lumias to Nokia PC Suite?

A: No. The Nokia Lumia range will only be compatible with Microsoft synching solutions.

Q: Are you guys going to update (software) for the Lumia 610 as frequently as the Lumia high end variants?

A: We plan to make updates available for any Lumia product where there is sufficient value to doing so.  Exact frequency will depend on the needs, which will either be product specific improvements or new platform features delivered in MSFT WP 7.5 software update.
