Mapstronaut winner heads to space…Rome + Palawan

You’d be right to think that The Mapstronaut would have been good enough to lend his competition winner the rocket he jets around in and let them head into space to explore the final frontier but no, he sent his winner to the next best place – Rome (trust me, it’s awesome) armed with a Nokia N8.

Linker (a.k.a. Cristian Trohin) took to the streets of Rome armed with the N8 the Mapstronaut gave him to document his journey. And document it he did! There are myriad excellent pics in his post that showcase the camera power of the N8 (like the Pantheon above). Not only did he get to go to Rome and snap all it had to offer, but to get there he had to take his first ever flights!! So the N8 took to the skies (not quite to Mapstronaut levels, but…):

Proving once more that the N8 can take pictures where regular cameras can’t, Cristian even managed to get a snap of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel:

There’s more, but I wouldn’t want to spoil the pictures by sharing them all here, so I heartily recommend a read of Christian’s excellent post (brought back memories of my trips there). Sounds like the Mapstronaut gave him quite the holiday, and he snapped it all.

Another competition winner, Neil Ross Goco (a.k.a. MrJonJon), took another of the Mapstronaut’s Nokia N8’s to Palawan (which totally sounds like a Star Wars location) and also took a few photos:

..and his Flickr album also contains a snap of this curious gentleman of the forest:

Thanks Mr. Mapstronaut for sending these chaps to far-flung destinations and allowing them to take some most excellent photos of their adventures on your Nokia N8’s. Got anything to add? Maybe you want the Mapstronaut to visit your neck of the woods….Let us know in the comments, or send your inventive 140 character invite @Nokia_Connects.
