The Nokia Lumia 1020 is not just a great camera, so we will be running through apps to help you with every walk of life later in this series, but we thought we’d start with the main attraction.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is great for pointing and shooting amazing photos, providing everything you need to capture the perfect shot anytime and anywhere with the default Nokia Pro Camera. However, the Windows Phone app store is bursting at the seams with apps to help you brush up your photography with a little creative inspiration.
We’ve been delving into the Windows Phone app store and, for your snapping pleasure; here are some photography favorites to try:
Add an artistic splash to photos by boosting colors and adding blur effects that make still images look like they’re moving.
2. PhotoSynth
Surrounded by beauty? PhotoSynth lets you capture a 360º image using the Lumia 1020 so you will, quite literally, never miss anything.
3. Cinemagraph
Cinemagraph blends still images and video into a crazy cool mash-up of the both formats.
Lumia 1020 owners lock down elite status with special access to Oggl PRO and all its advanced features. Sink your teeth into an epic array of photo effects, and share with a creative community of fellow photo buffs.
5. Blink
We’re not quite sure how they did it, but Blink captures a series of images before you even press the button. Never miss anything ever again – um, even the things you did actually just miss.
6. Lomogram
Filters, filters and more filters. Lomogram offers every combination of filters, lighting effects and borders that you could dream up.
7. MonsterCam
Expert tip: get this app into your arsenal by Halloween. Monster Cam turns friends and family members into terrifying (okay, a little funny too) ghouls.
8. Camera360
Camera360 matches substance with style. Capture scenery? Select landscape. Selfies? Choose portrait mode. Foodie? You guessed it – there’s a setting for that too.
9. Fhotoroom
Fraternize with fellow Lumia owners and share your best photography with one of the fastest-growing communities in the app store.
10. Face Swap
People may say you look like your mom or dad, but now you can offer definitive proof (or evidence to the contrary) by swapping faces in photos. Good fun guaranteed.
11. ProShot
The go-to app for the control freak. Within ProShot, you can manage shutter speed, control ISO, and manipulate focus to take the perfect shot. A photography nerd’s dream.
12. Timelapse Pro
Create your very own stop-motion video with Timelapse Pro. The app takes hundreds of still images and strings them together for a killer effect.
13. Fotor
Fotor is a great resource for creating collages of your favorite images, as well as editing shots for a little artistic flare.
14. Memorylage
Memorylage pulls from your entire photo collection to create an enormous and beautiful collage.
15. Nokia Smart Camera
From a friend going off a jump on a snowboard, to your kids cannot keep still for a family photo, Nokia Smart Camera is the app for moving photos and a whole lot more.
