We recently sent photography fans in our community down to the Weber X Bailey Nokia Lumia 1020 exhibition in Shoreditch, London.

Before we start, is this exhibition fresh news to you? If so, take a look at our first post about how this amazing partnership with Bruce Weber and David Bailey (two of the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle photographers) came together.

Time to see what our Nokia Lumia 1020 wielding community members thought of the experience and whether, “an intimate human in a distant world” inspired them to capture the world around them using the 41MP camera:

Stephen Maycock:

“I loved the gallery, the space was so interesting and fitted well with the whole design and project. I definitely couldn’t tell the difference between the image quality of the Lumia 1020 photos and something I’d take on my SLR, all of the images in the gallery were sharp and beautifully coloured.”

“I was so inspired by the exhibition that I went out straight from the door and began snapping away around Shoreditch with the Lumia 1020!”

Peter Goodbody:

“I enjoyed it and I got the impression that Weber and Bailey had a good time shooting with the Lumia 1020.  The Nicholls & Clarke building is a great space and Shoreditch is a dream for photographers – so ideal choice of location.”

“It’s an interesting exercise in getting professional photographers to use tools they may not otherwise consider.”

Michael Palmer

“The big size prints were excellent.  If I hadn’t known they were taken with a phone camera, I wouldn’t have been able to tell.  They make me want to get some of my own prints printed BIG now!”

“I’m certainly very pleased with the camera on the 1020.  The best phone camera I’ve ever seen for sure.”

Unfortunately the exhibition has now ended, but you can still view the Nokia Lumia 1020 hands-on with Bailey & Weber. Did you manage to make it down to the exhibition before the doors closed last weekend? If so, please do tell us your thoughts!
