Best-selling Lumia is better with Windows Phone 8.1

While Windows Phone 8.1 will become available for Nokia’s new smartphones, it’s also coming to every Lumia smartphone running Windows Phone 8, including the hugely popular Nokia Lumia 520, the best-selling smartphone in its price range.

If you’re an owner, your beloved smartphone is about to get a free update by way of the Windows Phone 8.1 update.

Included is Action Center for super-fast notifications, Word Flow for quick and easy typing, an extra column of Live Tiles on your Start screen, individual volume controls for separating the sounds from gaming, apps, and music, plus the new voice-assistant, Cortana (initially starting rollout in the US).

How about those Nokia-only enhancements that you’ll only get with a Lumia? Nokia will keep making your phone better and brings you the Windows Phone 8.1 update and the following Lumia features all in one package called Lumia Cyan update.

If you’re into photography (who isn’t?), you’ll be getting an improved Camera Roll that brings faster access to your images and image-editing tools. Cinemagraphs and Smart Shots are now visible directly from the Camera Roll, too.

Nokia Creative Studio now includes five new filters, adding more flavor to your pictures.
