Meet the incredible winner of our latest #LumiaChallenge
In our latest #LumiaChallenge, we asked you to show us what drives you outside of working life. Now, after much deliberation, the results are in.
And boy, was it tough to choose a winner from the over 4,000 entries that we received. We’d like to thank each and every one of you that sent an entry — having the chance to see who you are and what you love to do outside of the 9-5 was nothing short of inspirational. We’re continuously amazed by our community’s passion to #AchieveMore, and the entries for this #LumiaChallenge, which was all about celebrating the creativity of everyday life and taking time to enjoy what you’re passionate about outside of your profession, were no exception.
The challenge took place Feb 23rd – March 8th, with entries being shared on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #LumiaChallenge and #AchieveMore. Many fantastic entries were displayed for the world to see at Mobile World Congress at the beginning of March, but now it’s time to announce who the runners-up and winner are. Let’s begin with the runners-up.
The Runners-up
Kashyap Gohel
Outside of his studies, Kashyap loves to carve. His entry shows a blended hardwood carving that he created of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya. Now that’s talent!
Kirstie McGuinness
Kirstie is a civil engineering assistant during the week and loves to spend her weekends traveling and exploring the US. Her photo collage contrasting the working day with the weekend beautifully summed up what our challenge was all about.
Vincent Karuki
Vincent is a designer by day who loves to be outside whenever he can. His fantastic monochrome shot shows his friends having a weekend game of soccer, getting exercise and working as a team outside of the office.
Edward Lai
Edward is expanding his talents from photography to digital art, a hobby that we think is well worth his time. He created this digital painting using Didlr on his Lumia 800, and says it was his first effort. Keep up the good work!
The Winner
Ganesh Pawara
Ganesh loves to spend his free time dreaming up fun projects that he can craft by hand. This time he demonstrated his talent with a Lumia theme that we think perfectly shows how he uses Lumia to express his inner self, with a whole lot of creativity and talent thrown in. He crafted a hand-painted Windows Phone tiled coffee mug, a football, a cardboard version of the phone and some awesome sketches.
We’re feeling mighty inspired after seeing how all of you wonderful people love to spend your free time expressing yourself with your Lumias while off the clock. No matter how hectic working life gets, there’s always time to #AchieveMore. Congratulations to each of our runners-up, and to our winner Ganesh, who is now the proud owner of a shiny new personalized Lumia 830.
