Introducing the VivoBook S500 into the ASUS Family

I would like to introduce you to the ASUS VivoBook S500, the latest and largest addition to the ASUS family. If you are looking for a PC with a big, bright screen (15.6” inches to be exact) that is durable, yet portable, this might be the one for you.

The first thing that caught my attention was the keyboard. The track pad is situated slightly more towards the left because the VivoBook S500 has a number pad in addition to the full featured keyboard. This is a great feature that is not very common on laptops. If you are headed off to school in September to study Engineering, or other math focused majors, this is a feature that you will love, and will make your classmates envious.

The second thing that I noticed right away was how great this laptop feels in your hands. It feels very sturdy and smooth because it is built out brushed aluminum. Even the bottom of the laptop is sleek with one small air vent.

If you are somebody who likes to hook up your PC to TV to watch TV shows or movies, or to a projector at work then you are in luck because the S500 has a wide variety of ports including HDMI and VGA. It also has a UBS 3.0 hub which transfers files up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0.

The VivoBook S500 really brings Windows 8 to life because of the great touch screen. The freshly updated Mail, Calendar, People and Messaging apps are better than ever—especially when you have a touch screen. My friend, Brandon recently wrote a blog about the new updates and check it out to learn more.

Overall, I think the VivoBook S500 is a pretty great offering from ASUS. The screen is going to be awesome for activities like watching movies, surfing the web, or doing homework because it is big and very clear. It feels good in your hands, and the Windows 8 experience really comes to life thanks to the touch capabilities. If you are interested in getting your hands on the ASUS VivoBook S500, you can drop by a Microsoft Store to see one in person, or visit the Microsoft Store website. For just $699 this PC can be yours!
