A sports fan’s survival guide: The Windows Phone apps you need right now

Fall just might be the sweetest season for sports—and, as it turns out, sports apps for Windows Phone.

The NFL released a new fantasy football app for Windows Phone 8 this week. Major League Baseball, which officially kicked off its postseason playoff race yesterday, also just delivered a major update to At Bat 13, its official free Windows Phone app. The update brings new postseason news, score, and video features.

Finally, major sports junkie and Microsoft blogger Jeff Meisner recently surveyed the Windows app stores and today published an in-depth roundup of his 13 favorite sports apps for phones and tablets. If you’re new to Windows Phone—or just want to make sure you’ve got the latest and greatest—don’t miss his handy sports app survival guide.
