Just before CES 2014 started, Toshiba announced the world’s first 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840×2160) laptops. These 4K Ultra HD laptops will be updated versions of the Satellite P50t, and the Tecra W50 mobile workstation and will be available mid-2014. These Windows 8.1 laptops will be the highest resolution laptops available when they ship. While at CES 2014, I had the opportunity to see these amazing laptops, and was amazed by the ultra-high resolution screens.

The Satellite P50t is a part of Toshiba’s consumer line of PCs, and is targeted at photo editing, video playback, and other related scenarios. Complementing the Satellite P50t, the Tecra W50 was designed for those wanting professional workstation-class construction and features, like engineers and 3D designers.
The Tecra W50 has a 4K Ultra HD screen, weighs about 5 lbs, and is a professional-grade laptop (click/tap to enlarge)
While at the Toshiba booth, I got the inside scoop on these amazing 4K laptops from Toshiba’s Carrie Cowan. In the following video we discuss both the Satellite P50t and the Tecra W50:
