GLOBAL – It’s only a little over a week since the doors to Mobile World Congress were officially shut for another year, the scene of a bunch of exciting new Nokia products and services for 2009.
We ran a poll to ask you to vote for your favourite announcement. Hundreds of you got involved, so a huge thanks for getting stuck in, and now the votes have been counted. Click through to find out what won, and what Nokia products and services you and your fellow Conversations readers are most excited about for 2009. Drumroll please…
Securing the top slot with 21 per cent of the vote is the Ovi Store. Nokia’s upcoming mobile apps store has triggered an inspiring response across the web and here on Conversations. As an app obsessive myself it’s inspiring (and a little comforting) to see so many of you eager to further explore the depths of your devices using apps, fueled and sustained via a service such as the Ovi Store. More significantly, this result also helps highlight an interesting general shift in our perceptions as mobile users, in what’s traditionally a hardware-orientated scene – for a mobile service to capture the imagination and interest of the majority of you is a hugely encouraging and progressive sign, echoing Nokia’s vision for the future.
The Nokia E55 and Nokia N86 8MP share second place, each with 19 per cent of the vote. Here’s a full rundown of the results:
Ovi Store – 21%
Nokia E55 – 19%
Nokia N86 8MP – 19%
Nokia E75 – 14%
Skype and Nokia – 12%
Universal Charging Solution – 10%
Nokia 6720 Classic – 4%
Nokia 6710 Navigator – 2%
Or if you prefer your poll results pie-shaped, here’s a chart breaking it all down.
