Nokia has been growing steadily in the balmy climes of Brazil, starting with the launch of the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 on March 23. A huge launch event was held in 13 TIM stores across all the major Brazilian cities to celebrate the arrival of the first Nokia smartphones with Windows Phone 7 in the country. In other news, the Nokia Brasil Facebook page has reached more than 100,000 members – a 100 per cent increase on last year!
Another event that took place in Brazil recently was the Nokia Campus Party in Sao Paulo, where people could meet and ask questions to the resident Nokia experts all about upcoming Nokia devices. Here’s a photo of some of the participants getting to grips with the new Nokia Windows interface:

Nokia Brazil (or Nokia Brasil, if you’re Brazilian!) is well-known for making interesting advertisements – like this one featuring Brazilian comedian, journalist and television personality Rafinha Bastos (who was voted one of the world’s most influential Twitterers by The New York Times) – well, now they’ve done it again! Nokia Brazil have pioneered a series of campaigns on the amazing everyday with the strapline that ‘When you least expect it, something amazing may surprise you.’ My personal favourite is this sweet video about a couple – and you don’t even have to speak Portuguese to understand it!
And finally, no regional spotlight would be complete here at Nokia Connects without looking at some of the amazing Nokia photography coming out of the country in question. I was really spoilt for choice in Brazil, and the Nokia Brasil Facebook page has a whole album dedicated to stunning Nokia photography. But I could only pick one, so here’s my personal favourite from Luis Marques – who knew Brazil had snow?!
