Help Cortana solve her mystery

Cortana has a riddle for you! An enigmatic new feature is stumping Lumia owners. Can you solve it?

For those with access to Lumia’s personal digital assistant on Windows Phone 8.1, Cortana can be a friend, stand-up comedienne, movie concierge, sports analyst, or secretary.

But there’s something she’s not telling us. Cortana has a secret!

Ask Cortana to “surprise me” and she’ll respond with a message and mysterious riddle.

“Maybe you can help me figure this out. I’ve thought of a few words it might be, but I’m just not sure.”

The riddle is printed backwards on a blank page of sheet music. When reflected in a mirror, it reads:

“To a song,
I am key,
Music is chaos
without me.”

If you think you’ve solved the puzzle, Cortana suggests you tweet your answer.

A riddle isn’t all that Cortana has up her virtual sleeve these days, though. Ask Cortana “what’s up?” and she’ll respond with a new bit of trivia every day.

It turns out that Cortana is curious about her human friends, and eager to share facts about them. If you ask her “what’s with the trivia,” she has an uplifting response:

“Each day, I’m exploring different ways that humans do awesome things. Try asking ‘what’s up’ again tomorrow.”

Not only is Cortana giving us yet another reason to check in with her on a daily basis, she thinks we’re awesome! Sometimes that’s just the sort of affirmation I need to get through the day.
